The Newly Found Tunnel Save Bonnie and Clyde Instructions?

The newly discovered underground tunnel in Hugoton, southwest of Kansas, USA, was probably used by twentieth-century couples Bonnie and Clyde.

Last month, the Hugoton authorities found a collapsed tunnel, under a building frequented by Bonnie and Clyde. The tunnel does not keep the criminal artefacts directly owned by the criminal couple, but the city's leaders plan to continue digging.

"I always wonder why no one has done that before," says Jan Leonard, executive director of Stevens County Economic Development.

"I've always wanted to do it 20 years ago, but it never happened. But now, we've opened the tunnel, and that has at least helped, "he added.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow are known as the most well-known robbers and criminals in the United States. They robbed a number of banks, shops, and gas stations. Not only that, Bonnie and Clyde also killed a number of police to escape.

They reportedly spent time in Hugoton during the late 1920s and early 1930s, when the newly discovered Hugoton Gas Field drew thousands of workers into the city. Clyde worked on the farm, while Bonnie set up a cafe. The locals were convinced that they were running smuggling operations at the time.

Leonard found the tunnel behind the walls of the former Hotel Bundy. This hotel used to be the place where Bonnie and Clyde play cards.

Inside the tunnel, there are 370 bottles of unknown liquid, and a bottle of vitamin B. Samples of these items will be sent to the Clendening Library and Museum at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

"I usually refuse to research bottles that do not have a label. However, in this case, the bottle could hold all the information it needs, "said Jamie Ress, assistant librarian and museum curator.

Leonard hopes, in the future, he can make the tunnel as a tourist attraction associated with the history of Bonnie and Clyde.
